THE ROLE:
AMD Xilinx is looking for an experienced kernel/hypervisor (Xen Linux etc. engineer to work on cuttingedge Xen on ARM features with the upstream OpenSource community. Xen on ARM is key to many embedded architectures; it enables static partitioning realtime workloads and microvirtualization for containers security among other things. From industrial to medical and automotive highprofile embedded deployments make use of Xen to run realtime embedded applications alongside larger Linux environments without interference.
THE PERSON:
Candidates should be comfortable working with the Xen hypervisor and the Linux kernel. Ideally they have experience interacting with OpenSource communities and made upstream code contributions.
KEY RESPONISIBILITES:
In this role you will:
- Design and implementation of new Xen on ARM features from start to finish
- Design and implementation of new virtualization components in the Linux kernel
- Learn new hardware specifications and devise new techniques to virtualize them
- Code upstreaming to Xen and Linux kernel
PREFERRED EXPERIECE:
- Expertise with the development of Linux or Xen or other hypervisors / operating system kernels
- Experience in performing collaborative OpenSource development projects and effectively interacting with members of Open Source communities is highly desirable
- Selfdriven and capable of selflearning
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
BS with 5 years of related experience or MS with 3 years of related experience in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related equivalent.
