Job Duties

Richard Bland College (RBC) is a twoyear residential liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the TriCities regionand its rural setting featuring 750 acres of wetlands bucolic forest and the states oldest and largest pecan grove.

RBC is currently recruiting for a Store & Warehouse Specialist II. This position oversees general operations and activities of shipping and receiving of all packages and mail on campus. It conducts inventory of stock along with the storage of the inventory while guaranteeing the safe and efficient operations of material handling. Additionally this position supports the administrative staff and other departments within Operations.

Job specifications include but are not limited to:

Warehouse Shipping and Receiving (Inventory Control):

Loading and unloading items from one area to another.
Receive and record all incoming and outgoing packages and mail daily.
Log all packages ensuring any defective or incorrect items are returned and corrected by vendors.
Ensure correct postage has been applied to all outgoing mail.
Deliver all packages and mail to buildings on campus daily. Aware of all safety guidelines while performing duties.
Receive items in the Virginia Procurement System (eVA).
Deliver packages and mail to all buildings on campus daily.
Maintain custodial inventory keeping supplies stocked notifying supervisors when order needs to be placed.

Administrative Support:

Assist with maintaining miscellaneous excel spreadsheets and logs.
Answer multitelephone lines taking accurate messages from callers.
Assist staff with fueling vehicles when needed.
Support the administrative staff and other departments within the Operations Department.
Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Basic computer skills
Experience in warehouse atmosphere
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
Ability to perform physical activities that require maneuvering from one place to another and stand for extended periods of time.

Additional Considerations

Previous experience as a Store & Warehouse Specialist at another Commonwealth of Virginia agency.
