Job Description

Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education
*High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
*One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities
*Proficient communication critical thinking and prioritization skills required.
*Strong organizational skills.
*Excellent customer service skills.
*Must be able to read write and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
*Skills in basic computer operation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Department Overview

Our Minneapolis Infant Care Center is a 41bed infant critical care unit for complex neonatal step down patients and infant medical surgical patients under 1 year of age. We welcome and support families in the care and decision making for their infants. As part of the largest Mother Baby program in the state we work closely with our specialized interdisciplinary team of professionals dedicated to the care of infants with lifechanging diagnoses. In this unit we care for patients along their continuum of recovery from neonatal intensive care to recovery of infants after surgery including caring for changing physical and emotional needs as we prepare the patient and the family to return home. Our complex patient population requires cardiorespiratory monitoring airway preservation including ventilated tracheostomy patients medication management of complex gastrointestinal findings including short bowel and complex feeding plans as well as management of central lines. Our staff combines a moderate technical skill set with a familycentered approach when caring for our population of patients. We value teamwork open communication safety and respect. Position Summary

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
