Job Description

Job Title: Health Care Assistant (HCA) General Setting

Banding:Band 2

Location:Hereford

Rate:12.82 21.50 per hour

As a Health Care Assistant (HCA) you will be a vital member of our healthcare team providing essential support and care to patients in various settings. Your ability to remain calm make quick decisions and show empathy will be crucial in ensuring patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the assessment of patients conditions and helping to prioritise care based on their needs.
  • Providing initial support and interventions to help stabilise patients including basic care measures when needed.
  • Monitoring and documenting patients vital signs symptoms and any changes in their condition.
  • Supporting the medical team with diagnostic tests and helping to interpret the results.
  • Administering medications and assisting with treatments as directed by physicians.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in relevant general settings (within the last 12 to 18 months)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and reliability with a willingness to work various shifts including nights weekends and days.
  • A current DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check (assistance with this can be provided if needed).
