Work Schedule:

PRN help needed during Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities

The Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA is responsible for performing personal care needspromoting comfort and promptly attending to the requests of the patient.

  • Provide personal care including bathing toileting dressing skin and nail care and oral and personal hygiene.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals for the patient and assist with feeding.
  • Observe patient status and monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to the Case Manager.
  • Assist with ambulation exercise and range of motion procedures as an extension of therapy services.
  • Keep patients living area clean and orderly and assist with light laundry needs.
  • Provide respite for patients family and caregivers.

Qualifications/Skillsets

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must possess a current unencumbered active license to practice as a CNA in this state.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and current automobile insurance.
  • Understand philosophy of hospice concept and the needs of the terminally ill.
  • Must be comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill with empathy towards the needs of the ill injured frail and impaired.
  • Must be secure with issues of death and dying.
  • Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a nonjudgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards values lifestyles and ages.
  • Must be a selfstarter and use good judgment in difficult situations.
  • Willing to be on call and place patients needs first.
