Summary of Position:
The Childrens School follows a constructivist model of education for Toddler through 5th grade programsThe K5 P.E. teacherworks closely with Head and support teachers and Administrative Team to plan and implement Physical Education curriculum across kindergarten5th grade programs and supports Lunch hour recess periods.
Representative Duties
The K5 PE Teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate P.E curriculum to all K5 students and supports recess periods.
Uses social emotional curriculum to support supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in the program.
Maintains active and open communication with Head classroom teachers of the children in need of additional support and with the other members of the Childrens School staff.
Requirements
Three or more years recent successful teaching experiencepreferred
BA degree in education or related field preferred
California State Multiple Subjects Credential preferred
Knowledge of a Constructivist Experiential model of education
Commit to an inclusive culturally sustaining education model
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Ability to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment
Position is contingent upon fingerprinting/background check clearance and tuberculosis clearance.
