POSITION TITLE: Middle School B Team Softball Coach 1520 Hours per week through June 1st 2025)GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Each coach is responsible for all of the specific coaching duties relative to the sport s/he coaches the managerial aspects of his/her job and collaborating with the Building Principal makes a report at the end of the season. This report shall summarize the activities of the season including names of the participants games placed results and recommendations for the future.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Annually and only for the duration of the sport season in which s/he is coaching. Salary as determined by the current Master Contract. CLASSIFICATION: Fair Labor Standards Act ExemptREPORTS TO: Building Principal Athletic DirectorEVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated at the end of the season by the Building Principal with input as appropriate from the Athletic Director.SUPERVISES: Assistant CoachesQUALIFICATIONS: 1.Demonstrated knowledge and successful experience in the sport to be coached.2.Excellent interpersonal skills and high expectations for teamwork exemplary behavior and 3.responsibility.4.Ability to mentor and lead young people by example.5.Commitment to the districts mission and Strategic Plan.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Direct the total program including practice sessions clinics youth programs and games. 2.Complete a preseason checklist and post season checklist for the Building Principal and/or Athletic Director.3.Secure from all participants prior to the start of the preseason the following: proof of insurance proof of physical and parental permission forms. (Insurance/permission forms are to filed in the coachs notebook. Signed physicals forms are to be filed in the Nurses office.4.Submit to the Building Principal and to the players copies of any specific rules and regulations governing his/her specific sport before the start of the season; include criteria for earning awards.5.Submit prior to the start of the season a list of participants (team roster) including name grade height weight position uniform number managers and captains.6.Promote progressive learning of athletic techniques fundamentals and systems of play. 7.Design a checklist for managers with a list of specific duties to complete for practice games home and away trips.8.Assign lockers and keep a locklocker inventory. 9.Ensure that all players are properly and safely equipped for the type of activity/sport they are playing.10.Properly store all equipment uniforms and supplies pertaining to the sport including all athletic training equipment and medicine kits.11.Cooperate with fellow coaches the Building Principal and the Athletic Director.12.Forward all scheduling requests to the Building Principal including practice or games.13.Communicate directly with the Building Principal regarding any games matches or meets that are postponed or changed.14.Request new or additional equipment and supplies through the Building Principal.15.Submit a written report at the end of the season including results records award winners and gamebygame scores to the Building Principal.
