Job Description
Hire Resolves client in the Healthcare industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Theatre Scrub/Recovery Nurse in Mthatha Eastern Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating theatre environment.
- Scrub in and assist the surgical team.
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
- Provide postoperative patient care in recovery.
- Assess and manage patient pain levels.
- Educate patients and families on discharge care.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Maintain current knowledge of surgical practices.
- Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period.
Requirements:
- Nursing degree/diploma
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current and valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Proven experience as a Scrub Nurse and Recovery Nurse in a busy operating theatre environment in South Africa.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques surgical procedures and postoperative care principles.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
