Job Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide lowlatency highspeed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Have you wanted an opportunity to develop software for an advanced satellite broadband telecom service The Infrastructure for Over the Air software delivery Engineering (IOTA) team owns the software delivery to all Kuiper assets such as satellites and ground stations and their configurations.
The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful operation of the satellite constellation these systems need to have missioncritical reliability uptime and performance.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
The System Development Engineer is responsible to support suite of software applications and services to update software on constellation of satellites on Ground and in orbit. Your support will affect our customers directly! High Impact production requests and issues often require coordination between multiple Development Product and Support teams so you get to experience a breadth of impact with various groups. Itll definitely help for you to be detailoriented and a skilled problem solver because youll also be helping us to streamline our processes and automating them where applicable.
Primary responsibilities include executing OTA procedures troubleshooting diagnosing and fixing production software issues developing tools automation and monitoring solutions performing software maintenance and configuration implementing the fix for internally developed code (Python / Go lang) updating tracking and resolving technical challenges and improving operational excellence and readiness of the systems.
Some of the key job functions include providing support of incoming requests tickets including executing the procedures to update software on Satellites during manufacturing on ground labs and in orbit with responsibilities covering multiple products features and services.
Experience in automating deploying and supporting infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
Experience with Linux/Unix
Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

The base pay for this position ranges from $89200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
