- Install and administer the client server network with all peripheral equipment. Monitor network performance and react to warnings and other suspicious indications.
- Install appropriate updates to software pertinent to Curtis operations.
- Perform all routine maintenance on hardware and software
- Educate employees regarding computer and network policies.
- Maintain network security and business system security through employee identification and password assignments. Maintain files of the same.
- Train employees on computer network use and software applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with user workstations (desktops/laptops). Perform repairs including but not limited to virus spyware adware and other malicious software removal; software reloads; diagnosis and replacement of failed components such as hard disk drive power supply motherboard video card network interface card RAM etc.
- Administer respond to and support the HelpDesk functions.
- Maintain software and hardware records including licenses.
- Manage the electronic data interchange with Curtis trading partners both customers and suppliers.
- Assist in annual budget preparations for capital (hardware both new and replacement/upgrade) and expense (annual maintenance and license fees repair parts consulting etc)
- Configure and install new equipment. Remove and dispose of obsolete and failed equipment.
- Create the jobs and administer the daily weekly monthly and annual network data backups onto disc and tape media. Rotate media as required. Establish intermediate and longterm archival for media.
- Provide guidance on policy and methodologies regarding IT infrastructure to other Curtis facilities including maintenance of current and implementation of future technologies.
- Assist the IT staff at other Curtis facilities as required for installations troubleshooting repairs providing 2nd level support when required coordinating to obtain 3rd level expert support if necessary.
- Contact suppliers for obtain quotations for all hardware and network supplies and services.
- Perform any required functions to accomplish fiscal monthend closings in the ERP business system.
- Write and implement minor routines in DOS VB Access VBS etc.
- Perform configuration changes along with additions/deletions to the network perimeter firewalls around the world.
- Perform configuration changes along with additions/deletions to Curtis web interfaces including Lunarinside CRM SupplyWeb caWeb Citrix FRx and other web based applications.
- Investigate telephone equipment complaints. Perform minor repairs. Coordinate with external contractor(s) for installations and other repairs.
- Primary contact for telephone service provider. Foster competition for Curtis business stay abreast of latest technologies and recommend best solution for Curtis business needs to management.
- Monitor and maintain the Curtis DNS and WINS databases.
- Perform other duties as required. Maintain housekeeping and organization.
- Inform supervisor of all unusual circumstances or problems. Abide by all company rules policies and procedures.
- Interface directly with the endusers to analyze and determine how best to satisfy their business requirements utilizing the business systems.
- Create new and innovative solutions for the enduser. Design userfriendly solutions write appropriate code (SQL VB HTML Java etc. to execute perform necessary testing and debugging to insure accuracy and completeness.
- Modify existing forms reports stored procedures to provide endusers necessary solutions.
- Thorough complete and well organized documentation of any and all modifications or additions is mandatory to provide bulletproof audit trail of enhancements.
- Assist with implementation of major business system software along with all peripheral modules. Provide training where necessary.
- Perform all software upgrades (bug fixes hot fixes service packs major upgrades) as directed by management.
