Your Opportunity

We seek an innovative and motivated individual who is eager to work as part of a Team at our Frederickson Facility!
Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Manager as the Control Room Operator you will work as part of a twoperson team on a 12hour rotating shift responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a 265MW Combined Cycle Power Plant utilizing various control systems as well as directing the operation of all plant equipment. Qualification as the Outside Operator is first step. Control Room Operator qualification is the next step. Ideally the twoperson team will consist of two fully qualified CROs sharing duties of the two positions. However some shifts are a blend of both positions as new hires get qualified. The
Operator must be able to work with others and assist in Overtime for other shifts as required.
You will contribute to our team by:
- Ensuring the safe operation of all plant equipment throughout all various operational situations. This equipment includes but is not limited to Gas Turbine Steam Turbine Generators Heat Recovery Steam Generators Emissions Monitoring system Electrical systems Compressors motors heaters pumps and all other balance of plant auxiliary equipment utilizing Turbine Control and Distributed Controls Systems.
- Monitoring equipment parameters such as temperature pressure levels vibration operating hours and water chemistry as well as reviewing Operator rounds to verify operating conditions and trend operation.
- Ensuring water chemistry is within proper control ranges and adjusting as needed by controlling chemical feed and/or blowdown rates.
- Performing general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the appearance of the facility as required.
- Issuing permits including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout Confined Space and Hot Work as required to authorize work.
- Utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) to enter service requests as well as documenting the performance of assigned Preventative Maintenance.
- Communicating plant conditions particularly when unusual or abnormal to the Operations Manager and Lead Control Room Operator.
- Assisting with development of operations procedures and programs.
- Operating heavy equipment such as a manlift and forklift as required.
- Assisting with junior operator training.
- Strictly adhering to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees contractors community and the environment.
- Assisting with performing Root Cause Analysis of failures as required.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
- Completed High School Diploma required.
- Technical training related to the role is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience as an Operator in a power plant is desired.
- Experience as a Control Room Operator for Combined Cycle Plants is highly desirable.
- Experience in water chemistry control analysis of water conditions water treatment facility operations and chemical handling requirements is preferred.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations closed system steam generation industrial safety hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.
- Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process control is desirable.
- Experience with GE units is desirable.
- Extensive working knowledge of the power plant industry is desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Solid ability to solve equipment systems and safety issues.
- Gas Power Plant Operation and Maintenance experience.
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot at an expert level concerning operating issues at Gas Power Plant.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and help foster a positive team environment.
Working Conditions:
- Heavy industrial facility designated as a safetysensitive location.
- Physical mobility including lifting and climbing and ability to use PPE required.
- Rotating Shift Work required.
- Working Outside.
Additional Details:
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
The pay range for this position is $44.00 to $52.10.
The specific rate will depend on the successful candidates qualifications and prior relevant experience.
This position is eligible for health care benefits retirement benefits paid time off and annual bonus.
As this is a safety sensitive position clearance of a preemployment drug test is required subject to applicable law.
