T-5 Enrollee

This is a training program for senior job seekers ages 55 and older with a durational limit (a maximum period of 48 months or 4 years). Candidates who are currently unemployed seeking training or on the job experience and meet income guidelines are eligible to apply.

Provides administrative assistance to the various programs operation under Bay Agings Meals On Wheels (MOW) program that supports enhanced collaboration and streamlined activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work well with volunteers to schedule MOW routes.

• Lead efforts that enhance staff engagement and morale such as organizing office celebrations distributing birthday/ celebration/ sympathy card updating monthly bulletin boards
• Support confidentiality efforts by appropriately discarding sensitive information
• Help coordinate and assist Meals on Wheels.
• Provide general program information and customer service to clients through various forms of communication (inperson email telephone etc.
• Enter data into Excel spreadsheets and other data management platforms
• Organize and file physical and virtual documents
• Good coping skills working with the elderly
• Help with light cleaning
• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Rely on extensive onthejob training and experience to accomplish the work

Working knowledge of

• Basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Programs (e.g. Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint)
• Multiline telephones copier scanner and fax machines
• Community resources and human service operations

• Maintain strong attention to detail and record keeping ability
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain trusting professional relationships with Bay Aging staff community partners clients and other third parties
• Selfstarter and proactive: identify critical needs set up activities and priorities resources
• Excellent verbal communication skills in person and over virtual platforms and telecommunication devices
• Decision making: Must be able to work independently with frequent collaboration and reporting to host site supervisor

At least 55 years old or older
High School diploma or GED.

• Experience with MS OfficeWord Excel PowerPoint Etc.

Valid Virginia drivers license

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Officebased position with minimal physical requirements (ability to lift 15lbs walking and climbing stairs).
FLSA status: This is a nonexempt position.
