Job Description

Amazons Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial real estate lawyer to fill the position of Legal Counsel Real Estate/Colo supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry providing IT infrastructure services such as ondemand compute capacity storage content delivery database services and more.

As part of the AWS legal team you will be responsible for supporting AWSs worldwide data center expansion through land acquisitions leases and serviced licenses. You will have transactional drafting and negotiating responsibilities on deals and will provide legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a daily basis. Transactions range from standard contracts to complex bespoke high value agreements. You will structure draft and negotiate agreements and leases help support AWSs existing portfolio manage outside counsel and advise internal business clients. In addition you will help develop implement and manage process improvements across the team resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handle prelitigation legal disputes and inquiries.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic enjoy working hard and being challenged and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Competitive salary based on experience and includes equity compensation.

This position is located in our London office.

A qualified lawyer with significant experience at least five years of postqualification legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as a real estate lawyer
Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts in English
Strong written and oral communication skills

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
Enthusiastic enjoy working hard being challenged and working in a fun teamoriented environment
Demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
Ability to work both independently and as part of a crossfunctional team
Strong analytical written and oral communication and client interaction skills
