Reporting to the Engineering Manager the AS Design Engineer translates design intent into reality.The incumbent creates complex and detailed 3D models production files and fabrication documents from those models assembly and fabrication support and coordination and product database oversight.

What will you do

• Utilize CAD to develop models CNC programs and simulations to help fabricate and validate designs using Solidworks Rhino and other software packages.
• Collaborate with various disciplines including but not limited to architects designers sales and marketing teams programmers fabricators and assemblers to ensure proper communication and understanding of design intents.
• Understand and apply real world manufacturing capabilities to part designs to balance form vs function.
• Utilize rapid prototyping and other fabrication means to mockup designs and test efficacy.
• Create and maintain fabrication documentation files and BOMs
• Develop fixtures and other manufacturing aids.
• Utilize automation routines to expedite workflow and minimize human error.

• Quickly iterates through component/detail designs with input from team members and clients.
• Provide assembly and fabrication support for key mockups.

What will make you successful

• Bachelors degree in design or similar specialty mechanical engineering or computer scienceOR3 5 years of equivalent work experience.
• Experience with using Solidworks and Rhino 3D

• Strong graphic and layout design expertise.
• Capable to perform hand sketching and comfortable working with your hands.
• Exceptional ability to focus on details but also able to see the big picture.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in MS Office (emphasis on MS Excel & Word)
• Proficient written and oral communication skills; bilingual is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking/ creative problemsolving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage project timelines.
• Initiativetaker with a strong ability to multitask and juggle multiple responsibilities.
• Superior organizational skills.
