Job Description
Position Description:
Responsible for the facilitation of educational curriculum and student success at Thrive Education and OnenTens soontolaunch microschool called The Queer Blended Learning Center (QBLC). QBLC teachers use a blend of technologybased and teacherled instruction to ensure mastery of content. Supports students with social emotional learning reading writing math science social studies projectbased learning and LGBTQ/Culturally Responsive curriculum. Cultivates a learning environment where students can be curious independent productive and kind. Creates a safespace where students are honored and valued for who they are. Assists students attending microschools with learning supporting students where they are. Works in our microschool setting with approximately ten to twelve 6th8th grade students. Supports individual student needs with creativity and innovation while respecting all students and families and their access to quality education. Uses high impact instructional practices and motivational techniques to engage students in learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads a blendedage classroom of 1012 students for 30 hours per week 180 instructional days and 10 Professional Development days working a total of 190 days.
- Maintains an environment of safety and inclusion.
- Guides students individualized learning needs.
- Supports small group activities.
- Monitors student academic progress.
- Communicates with parents and families.
- Motivates students to be excited about learning.
- Encourages studentled experiential learning.
- Manages student behavior in a supportive and kind way.
- Collaborates with other staff members.
- Enforces safespace guidelines consistent with Thrive Education and OnenTens goals mission and values.
- Maintains regular and consistent inperson attendance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education Experience Skills):
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Strong communication skills
- Experience using a computer and online tools (email websites video streaming etc.
- Ability to pass a Level 1 background check drug screening and obtain an AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Good judgment discretion confidentiality
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
- Involvement and/or knowledge of the LGBTQ community highly preferred
