Continuous Monitoring Analyst

Job Description:

The Continuous Monitoring Analyst is responsible for the ongoing assessment monitoring and compliance tracking of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and threats within NIWC CSSP environments. This role ensures that DoD cybersecurity directives risk management frameworks and operational security policies are effectively implemented and followed. The analyst will support realtime monitoring of network assets risk scoring compliance auditing and vulnerability assessment to protect classified and unclassified systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain a continuous monitoring strategy for cybersecurity risk management.

Monitor network and system compliance with USCYBERCOM directives such as Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs) IAVAs IAVBs TASKORDs and FRAGOs.

Assess cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities using automated security tools such as ACAS HBSS and SIEM platforms.

Perform security audits and compliance checks to ensure all assets meet DoD security requirements.

Analyze security alerts and event logs from various monitoring tools and correlate them with known threats.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of security status and risk posture in compliance with DoD guidelines.

Support risk scoring efforts through the Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS) framework.

Track and report compliance metrics for systems within the NIWC CSSP network infrastructure.

Coordinate with incident response and vulnerability management teams to ensure that security issues are effectively mitigated.

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for continuous monitoring processes.

Identify trends and emerging threats through realtime security monitoring and data analytics.

Assist in security testing and validation of IT systems to detect misconfigurations and potential threats.

Provide recommendations to leadership on cybersecurity posture improvements based on monitoring findings.

Qualifications

Information Systems Security Specialist IIII

Education / Experience Level I: High School Diploma or GED; Experience: Two 2 years of practical experience demonstrating competency in Cybersecurity or related experience.

Clearance Requirement: Secret / Top Secret SCI

Certification Requirements: 8570 Compliant IAT 2 or 3

Salary range: $65200 $97.700. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Education / Experience Level II: High School Diploma or GED; Experience: Two 3 years of practical experience demonstrating competency in Cybersecurity or related experience.

Clearance Requirement: Secret / Top Secret SCI

Certification Requirements: 8570 Compliant IAT 2 or 3 and meet one of subsequent DoD 8140 manual of CND Auditor CND Analyst CNDSP Manager CND Incident Responder CND Infrastructure Support IASAE I or IASAE II

Salary range: $74.000 $110900. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Education / Experience Level III: 5 years with a Bachelors degree or 7 years with HS/GED in Cybersecurity or related experience.

Cybersecurity Engineer IIII

Education / Experience Level I: Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline. Experience: No Experience needed

Certification Requirements: 8570 Compliant IAT 2 or 3

Education / Experience Level II: Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline. Experience: 3 years of professional experience in a related cybersecurity / IT Field

Education / Experience Level III: Masters degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline. Experience: 10 years of professional experience in a related cybersecurity / IT Field
