Job Description
TITLE:Mathematics Teacher
TYPE OF POSITION:Fulltime 1.0; (Fullyear Substituteschool year) salary commensurate with experience and education (FY 25 range: $51823 $116384 FY 26 TBD)
LOCATION:Middle School Hopkinton Massachusetts

The Mathematics Teacher provides learning experiences in mathematics and helps each student develop competence in basic mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics motivates each student to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems and encourages students to develop their special talents in the field of mathematics.
DUTIES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides learning experiences in Mathematics guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning and involvement. Monitors students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction materials or assessments when appropriate;
- Evaluates tries innovative approaches and refines instructional strategies including the effective use of technologies available to teachers to increase student learning involvement and confidence to learn;
- Demonstrates appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among individuals and strives to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning;
- Maintains and improves professional competence through attendance at professional development events and by selfgenerated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for recertification;
- Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department building and school district attending all faculty and committee meetings as required and districtwide committees as needed;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered qualified for the position ofMathematics Teacher candidates must have/be:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Mathematicsat the appropriate grade level by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education to include Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement;
- Meets all Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education standards for Highly Qualified Teacher;
- Bachelors Degree Masters preferred from an accredited college or university in a related field;
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing to children and adults;
- Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
