Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.
- Responsible for various types of weld preparation welding and weld finishing.
- Fit and weld in various positions (including overhead welding) on aluminum stainless steel steel and pipe.
- Torch cutting layout and fitting.
- Assist in maintaining plant equipment through preventive maintenance program. Equipment includes but not limited to conveyors magnets eddy current air compressors vibratory feeders mobile equipment and electrical systems.
- Understand environmental policies and maintain a clean work environment as it pertains to our policies and procedures.
- Willing to crosstrain in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Acetylene Torch Cutting. Plasma Cutting
- MIG Welding
- Stick Welding using 7018
- Band Saw
- Be selfmotivated
- Demonstrated ability to plan work and have good English skills
- Ability to read and understand welding procedures preferred
