JOB TITLE: Instructor HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) DEPARTMENT: Trades Institute
PAY RANGE: Trades and Industrial Arts 3/4. Fulltime 10 or 12 months per year; benefits eligible. Instructor salary range: $54000 $65000 based on 12 months

SUMMARY: Is responsible for teaching courses in the HVAC program and shortterm programs. Shortterm classes may include but are not limited to RV Technicians Manufacturing Electrical Production Technicians and Construction. Courses will include alternative delivery methods day evening or weekend times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Provides careeroriented instruction and support to students to assist them in the development and/or improvement of HVAC systems and skills
- Teaches short term courses that may include electrical manufacturing production and construction
- Promotes and coordinate shortterm classes that align with current programs and offerings
- Provides quality instruction by using effective lesson plan development and strategies
- Fosters positive student and community relations
- Maintains and submits instructional records in accordance with requirements
- Integrates subject area with other related curricula
- Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies
- Works professionally with college faculty and staff to aid with the educational process
- Remains current in practices trends and research related to areas of assignment
- Attends meetings and participates in student and/or program assessment as directed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Reports to Director Trades and Industrial Arts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Associates degree or higher in an HVACrelated field OR completion of a professional or certified HVAC Technician programAND/OR
- Three years of work experience as an HVAC technician or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate degree or higher in an HVAC related field
- Proven knowledge of the HVAC industry
- Experience teaching in a secondary postsecondary or higher education environment
- Experience in differentiated instruction for diverse student populations
- Five or more years of experience in HVAC
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Ability to effectively teach content material
- Ability and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the community
- Demonstrated skill in creating and managing a work climate of collaboration collegiality and team work
- Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC

- Ability to perform a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 2050 pounds of force occasionally and/or 1025 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
