Description & Requirements
- Lead and collaborate with scientists and research associates to make fundamental discoveries about gene regulation and disease genetics
- Develop and apply functional genomics techniques including chromatin profiling singlecell transcriptomics and CRISPRbased assays in human cells and tissues
- Design and lead independent projects including developing methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Make significant contributions to scientific papers quantitative data analyses and presentations
- Contribute to generation of protocols and data analyses train personnel and support other scientists in the laboratory
- Work with multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals
- Manage administrative and operational activities for the lab and coordinate with other groups at the Broad
- Managing Environmental Health and Safety protocols and procedures coordinating inspections attending committee meetings ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintaining laboratory safety standards and procedures serving as emergency preparedness representative for the laboratory and providing training when necessary
REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology Biochemistry Genetics or related life science field
- Additional 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or industry setting strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage administrative and operational activities
- Strong handson experience in molecular biology and genomics
- Experience with singlecell RNAseq and chromatin profiling highly desirable
- Experience with quantitative data analysis. Knowledge of computational methods is a plus
- Proven track record of critical scientific thinking multitasking ability and strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with scientists from a wide range of research expertise
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to adapt to and effectively manage changes in a fast paced and dynamic environment
