The Sports Medicine Rehab Physical therapist is currently licensed to practice physical therapy in the State of Ohio. This individual will work within a team oriented sports medicine rehabilitation program. These services are offered via outpatient service sites to patients who have disorders and conditions associated primarily with orthopedic and sports related injuries. The sports medicine team members report to the rehabilitation manager as part of the OSU Sports Medicine program structure.
The Sports Medicine Physical Therapist works under the general supervision of the Director of Sports and Ambulatory Rehab and under direct supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to a rehab manager they are also responsible to each other to those they supervise (Physical Therapist Assistants and Athletic Trainers) and to other participants included in the patient care activities.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelors Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
All Rehab Team Members must hold current licensure with the State of Ohio Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board or the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and meet the educational and/or certification requirements established by their professions. All academic degrees must have been granted from an accredited institution. Current American Heart Association BLS certification preferred.
Maintains professional licensure; demonstrates commitment to continuing education; meets mandatory education and health requirements; demonstrates competence in technical interpersonal and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
