Open Door Health Services is hiring a Medical Assistant / Xray Technologist for our Urgent Care Facility located in Muncie Indiana. Urgent Care is open 7 days a week Monday through Friday 8 am to 8 pm and Saturday & Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. We are only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Summary: As a Medical Assistant / Xray Technologist you will uphold our Mission Vision and Values. In this position you will perform a variety of patient care activities to provide clinical support and assistance to physicians nurse practitioners and medical staff. Responsible for assisting providers with diagnosing and/or treating disease/injury. You will use Xray equipment to create images of internal anatomy to help with a diagnosis.

- Operate and maintain Xray equipment.
- Knowledge on how to prepare patients for imaging be able to position them correctly and safely.
- Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patients care.
- Prepares patient for the provider by obtaining vital signs chief complaint as well as other data such as glucose reading UA dipstick pregnancy testing and vision and hearing screening as appropriate and briefs provider prior to entering the exam room.
- Administers prescribed medications immunizations and treatments as ordered.
- Assist in screening telephone calls for referrals lab results and prescription refills for the provider.
- Prepares all patient charts including adding the appropriate forms assuring all ordered laboratory testing and outside notes are obtained and in chart.
- Completes telephone prescription refills as assigned.
- Utilizes TeleRadiology to submit images to offsite Radiologist.

About you:
- Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.

- Knowledge of examination diagnostic and procedures.
- Skill in obtaining vital signs and administering a variety of medications as prescribed by the provider.
- Knowledge of basic keyboarding and computer.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic radiographic procedures.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry fil apparatus and film processing techniques.
- Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically.
- Requires standing walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending stretching or lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Requires the ability to work under stressful situations.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment
Typical Working Environment: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases toxic substance medicinal preparations and other conditions common to clinic environment. Tasks involve contact with blood or body substances.
Education: Must possess a current provisional general or limited certificate as an Xray Technologist.
Experience: No clinical experience necessary if certified. Must have at least 1 year work experience in health care in clinic/office if not certified.
Certificate/License: CPR & First Aid Certification is preferred at hire required to be maintained through ODHS pos hire. Certification by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists in radiography.
