Our singular focus is Patient Care Second to None! Job Summary: Behavioral health technicians provide care and support to patients with behavioral disorders. They work directly with the patients to deliver services under the supervision of various types of behavior analysts. Their duties will include but are not limited to observing and recording patient behavior providing emotional support assisting with daily activities report on patient progress crisis intervention maintain confidentiality and complete documentation. The Behavioral Health Technician candidates will demonstrate excellent customer service focusing on providing patient care second to none. Duties: - Support patient activities and ensure safety.
- Maintain a BHTtopatient ratio following provider orders.
- Assist with daily living activities and monitor patient behavior.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques to deescalate conflicts in a manner that keeps staff and patients safe
- Concentration skills to understand complex written and verbal instructions and follow them completely
- Basic knowledge of anatomy mental health conditions and common treatments
- Observational skills to pick up on changes in symptoms and behaviors
- Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff and patients
- Thorough understanding of privacy laws and safety and infection control standards
- Ability to lift and steady patients who may have difficulty getting up or walking on their own
- Computer skills to enter information into health information software systems
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - Ability to demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
- Must be 18 years of age or older due to state requirements
- GED or high school diploma preferred; experience can waive this requirement.
- Valid drivers license preferred
- Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred
- Employee must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfer.
- Compassionate caring and serviceoriented are characteristics desired for this position.
- Must be able to assist patients in daytoday tasks
