Primary support for the development implementation and installation of new controls systems maintaining plant PLC systems troubleshooting technical issues repair or replace electronic devices and trend system operations.

Also primary responsible as a technical resource to troubleshoot issues for operations maintenance and engineering teams conducting training for controls and electrical related systems. Training of the facilities maintenance resources and operating technicians during the startup of new or modified control systems and act as a resource for the maintenance team when technical issues are beyond their understanding and ability to resolve. This position will also provide innovation and support for continuous improvement projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle Input/Output checkout for new projects and process improvements
• Maintain develop and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) including Allen Bradley ControlLogix SLC500 and CompactLogix.
• Work on Continuous Improvement projects throughout the entire plant and troubleshoot system failures when they occur
• Support the implementation of PLC programs for projects.
• Install and use WonderWare software to support plant projects.
• Maintain and upgrade the plant System
• Lead change control and keep validation of plant PLCs and system current
• Work closely with Maintenance and Operator Technician teams to assure that they are accurately trained in the use of the plant control systems. Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and Consultants to seek system related problems.
• Provide oncall support for onshift Technical Resources.
• Work in conjunction with the Network administrator to maintain the Facility Controls Network (hardware and software).

Education/ Experience Requirements

Basic qualifications include:

• High School Diploma
• 2 year Industrial Technology Certificate or Electrical Electronic Technology degree or equivalent work experience
• 3 years in PLC Field with knowledge of WonderWare Intouch or Archestra (PLC GE 9070 Programming Software and AllenBradley ControlLogix PLC 5 and SLC 5/05 software)
• 2 years experience in developing and/or changing electrical schematics

Preferred qualifications include:

• BS or equivalent Engineering/Engineering Technology in Controls or Electrical field.
• MSsql
• Industrial SQL
• AB Panelview
• Sigmatek PLC and Operator interface
• Siemens Step 7

Encouraged Areas of Skills

• Vast knowledge of GE 9070 Programming Software AllenBradley ControlLogix PLC 5 and SLC 5/05 software
• Ability to troubleshoot batching and continuous process control logic (ladder logic).
• Ability to guide coach and mentor facility technical resources and point people.
• Ability to support oncall rotation schedule
• Ability to adjust schedule to fit project startup and production needs
• Ability to communicate optimally
