The Water and Industrial Infrastructure Division of SGH provides structural and soilstructure interaction engineering services with an emphasis on the investigation analysis repair and rehabilitation of hydraulic infrastructure. Our work includes structural analysis design and preparation of drawings and specifications for buried and other infrastructure including pipelines tanks nuclear facilities dams and hydroelectric facilities culverts and other specialty structures and components. We also conduct field work to investigate structural failures to monitor construction conformance to contract specifications culvert installations and for industry and government research projects. Our engineering work is supported by our inhouse testing laboratory. Essential duties include structural engineering analysis and design internal pipeline inspection requiring the ability to work in confined spaces presentation of results through written and oral reports and the ability to travel (alone or accompanied) by airplane and car to job sites.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Generate or check structural analysis calculations drawings reports and specifications.
- Conduct field investigations and inspections monitor field construction and write inspection reports under the supervision/direction of senior staff.
- Plan and monitor laboratory investigations.
- Assist with client communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
What Youll Need:
- MS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering with 0 years of professional experience or BS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering with 12 years of professional experience with an engineering firm.
- Engineerintraining (EIT) registration or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Aptitude for field engineering including field inspections and monitoring of contractor compliance; emphasis on underground construction preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills including effectively summarizing key observations in formal reports presentations emails and orally.
- Willingness to travel and spend up to 25 of time conducting field inspections.
- Must be able to travel by plane and car. Must have a valid US drivers license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.

Compensation
Anticipated annual base salary: $73320 $89440. This range is a goodfaith estimate provided pursuant to the Texas Pay Transparency Law.
The actual salary offered may vary from the range as permitted by the Texas Equal Pay Transparency Law and will be based on several factors including the candidates experience and qualifications education skills competencies and proficiency for the role. Base salary is a part of SGHs industryleading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary pay for extra hours worked an annual bonus program generous paid time off and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGHs Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
