Job Description
Tidewater Community College has served South Hampton Roads both students and employers for 50 years. It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads enrolling nearly 28000 students in 201920. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System Tidewater Community College TCC services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake Norfolk Portsmouth and Virginia Beach 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions. The college had 3203 graduates inpercent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4year institutions. Of South Hampton Roads residents enrolled in higher education 36 enrolled at TCC . TCCs institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The parttime Case Manager provides direct noncounseling support services and educational programming to TCCs most economically and academically vulnerable students helping them to close resource gaps and overcome barriers to their personal professional and academic success. Specifically the parttime Case Manager will serve as the oncampus point of contact for the Student Resource and Empowerment Center providing handson benefits screening advocating for students as they navigate the complex web of social services campus and community resources following up with students as they access services and documenting students progress toward their goals. The parttime Case Manager will also offer educational programs that holistically empower and engage students in their current and future personal academic and professional endeavors. Functional Responsibilities: Promote and represent SREC on campus by collaborating with campus partners to participate in programs that support TCC students progress toward achieving their personal academic and career goals. Serve as the campus point of contact for the Single Stop program promoting and representing the program on campus assisting with developing and maintaining efficient office procedures for student basic needs assessment and screening and ensuring student access to campus and community programs services and public benefits programs. Assist students with navigating the application process within social and human services agencies and organizations advocating for students as needed. Provide ongoing holistic support for student wellness case management and followup to ensure that students are accessing all available resources and making progress toward their personal academic and career goals. Maintain uptodate information and collaborative working relationships with local social and human services agencies community services and faithbased organizations. Assist students with requests for emergency financial assistance promoting the program on campus fielding requests collecting documentation and communicating with students throughout the process. Accurately collect document and report program usage data in a timely manner using established processes. In coordination with the SREC team and in collaboration with campus and community partners support programming to address topics related to personal empowerment financial selfsufficiency academic success wellness interpersonal violence sexual stalking and healthy relationships. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Student Resource Center.

Work Schedule
29 hours per week to be scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evenings and weekends will also be required.
