Incumbent of this position will schedule all Nursing staff. This position regularly performs duties requiring computer skills detailed knowledge of bargaining unit contracts hospital operations and effective interpersonal communication skills. This position is responsible for daytoday staff assignments for FSSs RNs and FSAs. This position works closely with Nursing Administration to ensure appropriate unit staffing according to the collective bargaining agreements for voluntary and mandatory overtime seniority vacations incidental annual leave/sick leave and holiday scheduling. The incumbent should be proficient in the following Microsoft programs: Word and Excel to develop and maintain computer programs for Nursing Office needs and scheduling. Coordinate and analyze nursing performance improvement data and make recommendations for changes. Track patterns and maintain records/reports of staff to monitor unsatisfactory work performance in the area of time and attendance and lost time for Nursing Administration.

Shift assigned with be based on operational needs. 10hour shifts are required and subjected to change based on a 24 hour 7 days a week variability.

Education
Education typically acquired through completion of high school
Experience
Departmental Technician 7
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7level in state service.
Departmental Technician 8
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8level in state service.
OR
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
Departmental Technician E9
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9level in state service.
OR
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9level in state service.
OR
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.
Departmental Technician 7
Completion of two years of college 60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician 8
Possession of a Bachelors degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician E9
Possession of a Bachelors degree and one year of jobrelated experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.
