Safely and effectively perform the supervision and associated administrative duties of leading the Division Procurement Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all drivers in the Spokane Division.
  • Work with Customer Relation Representatives to ensure Customers are set up correctly in the Customer Service System.
  • Responsible for overseeing the routing for all the Spokane routes.
  • Review and ensure that the dispatching scheduling of drivers and the maintenance of all routes is performed on a regular and timely basis.
  • Has full responsibility for the D.O.T program and drivers file assuring the program requirements are met and the file are up to date for the Spokane Division.
  • Communicate all vehicle related issues to the garage supervisor.
  • Perform driver ride along and driving evaluations.
  • Resolve and follow up all customerrelated issues.
  • Responsible for reviewing the time cards for Spokane Drivers.
  • Responsible for approving vacation and time off request for the drivers.
  • Explore possible new service areas and monitor competitor activities.
  • Responsible for the renewal of all procurement related permits for the division (with the exception of the air & water board permits).
  • Visit customers to verify quality of services answer questions and ensure all services are being provided up to company standards.
  • Answer afterhours emergency calls for the Spokane Procurement Department.
  • Makes raw material and trap services pricing recommendations to the Branch Manager or General Manager.
  • Assist with the annual budget as requested by the Division Controller.
  • Review weekly and monthly CSS reports to verify that all routes have been completed accurately and are being run efficiently.
  • Review driver pretrip and posttrip inspections.
  • Route manager is responsible for communicating any Route and Procurement Department issue to the General Manager.
  • Safety Duties:
  • Conduct accident investigations in cooperation with the Corporate Safety Director for Seattle area drivers.
  • Oversee workmans compensation filing and OSHA reporting logs for the Seattle locations.
  • Conduct formal safety educational meetings and tail gate sessions with the employees for the Seattle location.
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements

Knowledge Skills Abilities Professional Certifications Education Experience and Travel Requirements

  • High school diploma required with 2 plus years of higher education preferred
  • Minimum five years supervisory experience.
  • Less than 5 travel requirement
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook Excel and Word
  • Must be able to receive emergency callins and dispatch the on call driver on weekends.
  • CDL class A with Medical card and acceptable MVR

Physical Demands/Requirements

Constantly (over 2/3:

  • Operates computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator copy machine and printer.
  • Moves throughout office accessing files office machinery etc.
  • Communicates with customers and coworkers and exchanges accurate information inperson telephonically and via electronic devices/email

Frequently 1/32/3:

  • moves lifts pushes and pulls equipment and material up to 60 lbs
  • walks climbs stoops kneels crouches reaches and handles equipment to collect material
  • operates electronic devices such as GPS equipment and phone/radio

Occasionally (under 1/3:

  • exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • exposed to materials that occasionally require use of PPE such as gloves (protect from heat)
  • moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
  • electronically and manually completes logs/reports
  • remains in a seated position while using arms legs and observation to operate vehicle
