Location: Deploying to the Marshall Islands
Job Summary:
The Radiology Technician will provide medical services to preserve the health of employees and client personnel such as performing diagnostic imaging examinations like Xrays and ultrasound in support of Acuitys contract in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices moving equipment into specified positions; and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties providing explanations of treatment; and answering questions.
- Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques using beamrestrictive devices patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infectioncontrol policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to such as contrast media administering first aid and using the emergency cart.
- Maintains production and quality of radiographor other media by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; and making necessary adjustments.
- Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Maintains radiology supplies and inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed an approved Radiology Technician program leading to a Diploma Certificate or associate degree.
- Must have an unrestricted state license or be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified.
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience asa Radiology Technicianis required.
- Must be experienced in sonography/ultrasound exams.
- Must have and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Must be able to multitask be detailoriented be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and common office equipment as well as with MS Office products required.
- Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
- Strong problemsolvingskills to research and resolve inquiries and respond promptly.
- All healthcare providers must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 6 of the last 12 months in the desired career field.
- Must have a valid current U.S. Drivers License.
- Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
- Shall be proficient in the ability to speak write and communicate in English.
- Requires a favorably adjudicated CNACI investigation conducted by the Department of Defense.
- Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be medically and dentally fit in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as directed by the Client.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel to Kwajalein is required by air.
