Essential Functions:
- Communicate with parents as necessary regarding students and student issues
- Communicate with administration any issues with staff and students that should come to their attention
- Facilitate the adjustment of children through use of psychological techniques
- Effort is made to contribute to the understanding of learning difficulties social and emotional problems and to aid in the utilization of available school and community resources to meet each childs needs
- Provide intense psychoeducational evaluations of individual children identified as or thought to have a disability
- Contribute to written report of the evaluation team and delineate the results of the psychoeducational evaluation for consideration in the development of the IEP
- Contribute in development of the Multifactored Evaluation (MFE)
- Consult with teachers parents and other educational personnel on matters related to the education and/ or mental health of students with disabilities
- Serve as a resource for teachers concerned with student issues related to learning
- Maintain case records on all referred students
- Confer with teachers and parents when necessary
- Interpret the school psychological services to teachers and parents.
- Assist in referral process
- Assist with professional development of school personnel
- Participate in professional development programs and activities.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field
- Monitor progress of students receiving special education services
- Complete evaluations of students with disabilities including observations and further testing
- Attend staff meetings committee meetings and professional development
- Conduct preschool screenings and diagnostic testing
- Consult with other school personnel and outside agencies
- Maintain records as required by district policy
- Evaluate intellectual social academic and adaptive behavior of children referred by school officials parents and community agencies
- Maintain an adequate system of records and communication conducive to the functions of the school psychologist including writing of clear concise reports
- Mandatory Events:
- Bill for medicaid eligible services
- attend TBTs and SPED meetings
- Complete corrective action plans
- Attend planning referral and ETR meetings
- Ensure safety of students
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required
- Provide guidance and counsel to the students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Observe ethics of the education profession; exhibit professional behavior emotional stability and sound judgment
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities
- Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Maintain respect at all times for confidential information e.g. student grades
- Interact in a positive manner with staff students and parents
- Promote good public relations by personal appearance attitude and conversation
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for students
- Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Designee
Qualifications:
- Is knowledgeable of CCSD guidelines and regulations
- Able to work flexible hours evenings and weekends
- Able to work with administrators colleagues parents and students in a positive manner
- State of Ohio School Psychologist license
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate

Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional requirement to travel daily and overnight
- Occasional interaction among unruly children
- Occasional exposure to blood bodily fluids and tissue
- Frequent requirement to sit stand walk talk hear see read speak reach stretch with hands and arms crouch kneel climb and stoop
- Frequent operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions i.e. being prepared to come to work on all scheduled work days except calamity days
- Frequent weekend/evening/summer work
- Requirement to lift and/or carry up to a maximum of 75 pounds and push/pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds various supplies and/or equipment
