A global manufacturer is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer on a fulltime basis.
This position is responsible for analyzing developing improving and implementing new and existing safety health and environmental programs and policies while ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies governing the safety and welfare of all employees.
Duties and responsibilities:
Implement and or improve existing safety and health programs
Develop or improve engineering controls
Serve as Emergency Coordinator for all facilities
Serve as Environmental Management Systems representative
Train employees on the procedures and policies that impact their safety
Solicit quotes from outside contractors to perform the required training approved by the N.Y. S. Department of Labor Hazard Abatement Board DEC RCRA EPA DOT FAA etc.
Prepare and submit all permits required to continue compliance
Coordinate employee recordkeeping as well as employee training documentation
Participate in plant wide Safety Committee meetings
Report EHS activities to the Facility Manager
Develop and maintain an audit process for safety issues throughout the facilities
