Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for an Experienced Payload Systems Design Engineer to work with the customer support teams working in areas of Payload systems ATA Specifications. This position will focus on providing 24/7 support to Boeing commercial airplane customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work complex technical challenges in support of safety operation and return to service.

This role will be based out of Bangalore India.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provides technical design and informational support for basic production product support or inservice issues. Troubleshoots aircraft system problems consistent with operational protocols.

• Reviews various Boeing documentation (e.g. maintenance documentation parts list component manuals etc. to identify solution(s) for inservice concerns and look proactively for potential future fleet solutions.

• Reviews drawings and installations to ensure customer questions/concerns are resolved.

• Supports and/or creates and provides basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles service letters drawings specifications documents data sets design folders test requirements documents manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery.

• Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data supporting testing and documenting findings.

• Supports review of technical design analysis and production by reviewing documentation participating in design reviews and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance.

• Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies.

• Supports and/or leads the research of technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.

• Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.

• Works with and possibly directing crossfunctional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design nonconformances.

• Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Assists in solving problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.

• The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings offhours and may require an occasional offshift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24 hours/7 days a week/365 day of the year.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• A Bachelors degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION

• Full Time recognized Bachelor of Engineering or Technology 4 years) with 10 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Masters and related work experience)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering / Masters Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

• Additional AME credentials preferable

• B1/B2 applicable license is added advantage

• Overall Experience 10 Years

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Interiors and Payload Systems.

• Experience with Boeing 7series airplanes.

• Experience supporting end users in a customer service role is highly preferrable

• Extensive troubleshooting experience on all or at least most of the listed payload systems installed on commercial airplanes with regards to maintenance and operations 38(Water and Waste) ATA 50 (Cargo and Accessory compartments) ATA 11 (Placards & Markings) ATA25 (Equipments & Furnishings) ATA35 (Oxygen)

• Conversant with aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM and FIM) IPC WDM CMM AHM and service documentation (FTD SLs etc..

• Experience in systems failure analysis root cause analysis and troubleshooting on Boeing commercial airplane models.

• Experience in handling of repair maintenance and retrofit processes practices and documentation.

• Experience in handling airplanes maintenance and flight operation documentation.

• Knowledge of the Airworthiness Directives and related Service documents.

• Knowledge of aircraft safety and quality management systems.

• Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

• Experience collaborating with multiple team functions.

• Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 Plus years related work experience or Masters Degree with 9 years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience
