Substitute School Resource Assistant

Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Educational Aide Permit
- Honesty

- Good attendance
Desirable:
- Previous law enforcement experience
- Previous experience with children in a learning environment
Objective:
To assist administration and all staff in maintaining a safe and optimal learning environment.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a School Resource Assistant include but are not limited to the following:
- Assistant with supervising student behavior in study halls cafeterias AM/PM buses Class Transitions Assemblies Lavatories In School suspension and after school activities
- Assisting in supervising student and visitor activity on the exterior of the school buildings
- Conduct home visits for truancy address verification and/or discipline concerns
- Assist with the removal of students and/or visitors from classrooms and/or buildings
- Be assigned an area of building at appropriate times and know objectives of that area.
- Knowledge of all entrance procedures parent pick up/drop off and emergency protocols
- Enforce Student Code of Conduct and All school policies on a daily basis
- Excellent communication with all building administration and staff
- Intervention and/or mediation with students dealing with school based situations
- Knowledge of all appropriate referrals when dealing with Mental Health and/or Trauma situations
- Transporting students when necessary (required Van Driving Training)
- Assist with attendance procedures.
- Willing to work nontraditional hours in order to cover after school activities and/or extracurricular events
- Ability to use proper communication daily by use of Radios
- Perform all other duties assigned by Building Administration and Supervisor of Safety and Security
- Ability to communicate effectively with all Safety Forces and First Responders
- Ability to conduct safety drills at assigned building(s)

- Stark County Emergency Training (online)
