Job Description
A Coteaching Lead Instructor (Lead) is responsible for managing curriculum and directly supporting affiliate instructors to help ensure student success in courses offered via the coteaching model. The coteaching model is designed as a way to offer multiple sections of a course where individual sections are cotaught by both the Lead and an affiliate instructor (typically a high school teacher). Both the Lead and an affiliate are listed as instructors on each section and the Lead is considered to be the primary instructor of record.
The Lead designs and shares the course shell orients the affiliate group with the shell designs and guides the general approach to the curriculum supports timely and accurate enrollment of students supports affiliate instruction through the semester and completes all required processes
in MyWNC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the Canvas shell for each semester course (designed to work with affiliates and meets coteaching program requirements)
Plan and lead a presemester orientation for affiliates.
Work with affiliates and student services staff to ensure student enrollment is accurate and complete in each section.
Monitor accuracy of section rosters in MyWNC and Canvas.
Perform all required processes in MyWNC (e.g. attendance rosters final grades)
Guide and monitor the grading and assessment of student learning leveraging Canvas as appropriate for each course and ensuring consistency.
Maintain regular contact (Zoom phone inperson email) with each affiliate (individual or group meetings as needed) at least once every two weeks during the semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the specified discipline or a closely related field.
Experience teaching college level courses is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty staff and students.
This position is for the Liberal Arts Division.
