JOB OVERVIEW
Lavazza North America is embarking on a growth plan to substantially expand our market share in the Americas. As part of this growth plan a large focus will be on our Office Coffee Sales channel optimizing our relationships with key distributors. Along with offering a bestinclass range of solutions for the market Lavazza is expanding our Sales team into new territories to best support this strategic business initiative.
At Lavazza North America the Tax Specialist will work in tandem with our accounting and finance departments. In this role the tax specialist will help design and implement tax policies and strategies and evaluate managerial processes to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and regulatory codes. The role also requires tax planning and reporting including the filing of corporate tax returns.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with local State and Federal Tax Authorities internal teams Lavazza Group Tax Department and tax consultants to handle tax documentation and reporting.
- Finding and implementing process improvement in sales tax collection recording and reconciliation process.
- Assist with maintenance of sales and use tax software and new nexus filing obligations sales tax reconciliation process and payments
- Managing monthly/quarterly sales and use tax filings.
- Managing intercompany operations and processes by liaising with HQ team
- Monitor legislative and regulatory indirect tax laws developments and communicate the effects.
- Remain up to date with changes in the tax code and accounting laws
- Assist with monthly quarterly and year end close processes.
- Assist with interim and year end audit processes.
- Participate in special projects as dictated by the needs of the business in cooperation with the Group Tax Department in our Turin Headquarters.
- Assist other accounting functions as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree required in accounting finance or related field.
- 5 years of state and local tax experience in a public accounting firm tax services firm or similar industry.
- Proven track record as a tax specialist or analyst
- Strong accounting analytical and research skills.
- Experience with SAP and Ecommerce tax softwares.
- Experience with a focus on indirect (sales & use) tax compliance and consulting.
- Experience in corporate income taxes is highly valued.
- Professional certification (ex: CPA in the United States) preferred.
- Experience in managing extensive volumes of accounting paperwork for a corporation or large organization.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting methods tax laws and audits.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Sharp attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with relevant accounting software.
- Hybrid: 3 days onsite at our West Chester PA site and 2 days remote.
