Are you ready to advance your scientific research career Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong work behaviors to join our team as a Scientist III within our Cell Biology team. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects with the potential to make a significant impact in the scientific community.
What will you do:
- Design experimental plans with guidance execute studies analyze experimental data quantitative analyses and data summaries.
- Execute high throughput experiments liquid handler programming and analyze data using R programming.
- Work on complex problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires an indepth evaluation of various factors.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems associated with various types of R&D projects.
- Exercise practical judgment within broadly defined practices and policies and exhibit creativity and foresight in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Interact closely with other internal departments (i.e. Marketing Business Development Quality Operations) in commercializing new products and customer and business support.
- Maintain accurate lab notebook to support the protection of intellectual property following relevant Thermo Fisher required standards.
Education:
- Bachelors degree with 2 plus years of experience or masters degree in biology Biochemical Engineering Biochemistry or other related field or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Expertise in the methods and techniques of smallscale mammalian cell culture (i.e. shake flasks deep well plates ambr15 microbioreactors etc..
Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in cell culture techniques transfection cloning and molecular biology methods.
- Solid understanding of data analysis and statistical software (e.g. JMP GraphPad). Demonstrated ability to interpret complex datasets and make datadriven decisions.
- Excellent organizational communication and problemsolving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
- Competence in research design troubleshooting and evaluating new techniques and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with highthroughput screening technologies and analytical tools.
- Prior industrial experience particularly in process development and/or cell culture media formulation development.
- Understanding of chemical biochemical and physical interactions of cell culture media and reagent components
- Previous experience with cell lines used in bioproduction (e.g. CHO & HEK)
- Familiarity with the operation of benchtop stirred tank bioreactors and related process development laboratory equipment as well as the scaleup of bioreactor and mixing systems.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $67000.00$85000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
