Job Description
We are .img cloudnative publishing platform provider.
Have you heard about Berliner Zeitung or Berliner Kurier Well thats us.
We support regional newspapers to meet the challenges of the digital age: facilitate reach engagement and monetization of journalistic content and integrate it with analytics and AI services (i.e.: tagging voice synthesis content generation).
Our solution jOS (journalistic operating system) supports newspapers for over 3 years and we boldly look for many to come.

Tasks
Take responsibility for the growth the .jOS SaaS platform. As a Senior Backend engineer you can contribute to the following areas:
- Usage of modern backend technologies and related system architectures (e.g. microservices reactive programming serverless)
- Working with AWS cloud to provide scalable solutions for millions of records and users
- Integration of thirdparty APIs and provisioning of outbound APIs for frontends and other consumers (e.g. crawlers) while optimizing for robustness and latency
- Work with DevOps processes focussing on a high degree of automation and quality (e.g. trunkbased development infrastructure as code multilevel test automation)
- Willingness to use learn and adapt our current tech stack including node.js TypeScript MongoDB Apache Kafka Redis AWS incl. ECS Lambda and CloudWatch
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend technologies ideally on top of a degree in computer science or a related field (e.g. mathematics physics)
- In depth understanding of cloud based distributed systems and ability to work with a complex custom codebase
- Experience with React.js Next.js technology stacks
- Passion to understand business goals and user experiences behind software systems
- Collaborative approach to shared development with an ability to vocalize feedback and contributions to guide colleagues and communicating with stakeholders
- Good knowledge of English; working understanding of German is a plus
