The Senior Project Engineer Lines & Interconnections will lead and coordinate the design and implementation of medium to largescale transmission projects. The successful candidate will work with crossfunctional teams to ensure that project designs are safe effective and aligned with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop safe and reliable engineering solutions by analyzing project requirements interpreting specifications and resolving technical issues.
Lead and coordinate multidiscipline design teams ensuring designs meet safety quality and timeline objectives.
Review and approve engineering deliverables while ensuring compliance with the Professional Practice Management Plan and applicable quality standards.
Conduct independent studies and analysis to address complex transmission line engineering challenges.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance project objectives and manage design review processes.
Monitor progress resolve technical challenges and recommend design modifications to improve project outcomes.
Apply Permit to Practice with EGBC and ensure adherence to regulatory and quality management standards.
Maintain project documentation ensuring compliance with EGBC Bylaws and document retention policies.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng. with Engineers & Geoscientists BC (EGBC) or eligible for immediate registration.
Valid Permit to Practice (P2P) with EGBC either as a sole practitioner or through a firm.
Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience with a focus on transmission lines substations or protection and control systems.
At least 4 years of experience leading and coordinating multidiscipline design teams on medium to large projects.
Experience through the full project lifecyclefrom conceptual design to testing and commissioning.
Strong understanding of transmission systems substations and protection and control principles.
Proficiency with CAD systems drawing standards and industry design/analysis software.
Working knowledge of project management principles and processes.
Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to understand project impacts on transmission systems and operations.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint).
Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Willingness to subscribe to Digital Sign and Seal Technology (Notarius).
Previous experience with utility projects or similar environments.
Site experience on large construction projects including hydroelectric stations substations or transmission lines.
Familiarity with telecom and/or protection and control systems.
