Purpose of Position
The department of Education Health and Behavior Studies at the University of NorthDakota is seeking a Clinical Assistant Professor of Counseling. This is a 9month nontenuretrack position contingent on availability of funding.
The Counseling Programs are housed in the Department of Education Health andBehavior Studies (EHBS) in the College of Education and Human Development (EHD)at UND. The Counseling programs include an APA accredited Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and an APA accredited Master of Arts (M.A. inCounseling (on campus and online versions of the program available; the onlineprogram is currently pursuing MPCAC accreditation).

Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will receive a contract with an approximate distribution of 7080 teaching 10 advising and supervision and 1020 service effort.
- Responsibilities for this position include:
- Teaching graduate courses predominantly oncampus in the Counseling masters program and the Counseling Psychology doctoral program with potential to teach one course a year online.
- Advising and mentoring graduate students.
- Serving on masters scholarly or independent research project committees and doctoral dissertation committees participating in graduate admissions and participating in comprehensive exam processes.
- Serving the program department college university community and the profession as needed.

Required Competencies
- Skills in graduate level teaching.
- Skills in supervision of clinical work (e.g. teaching counseling internship andcounseling practicum).
- Skills related to graduate level academic advising.
- Strong organization skills and conscientiousness; ability to successfully navigatea workload comprised of teaching/supervision advising and other servicerelatedtasks;
- Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills and ability to sensitively navigateissues of disagreement which may arise with students/supervisees;
- Strong commitment to multiculturalism and continued intrapersonal andinterpersonal growth;
- Strong awareness of counseling ethical and legal obligations and the ability toidentify and manage instances of real or potential ethical dilemmas or infractionsin supervising clinical work.
- Strong ability to utilize or learn relevant technology
Minimum Requirements
- Completion or near completion of Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or ClinicalPsychology or a closely related field.
- Licensed or licensed eligible psychologist in North Dakota.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology or related fields by September 12025
- Experience or skills in providing clinical supervision.
- Experience or skills in advising or working with graduate students
- Experience teaching or lecturing in graduate level counseling courses
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Strong Awareness of Ethical and Legal practices and counseling and workingthrough ethical dilemmas
- Multicultural competence. Dedication to multiculturally informed teachingsupervision and advising practices.
