Job Description

Responsibilities

Noblis MSDs mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research development test and evaluation acquisition engineering systems integration inservice and fleet engineering with cybersecurity comprehensive logistics and lifecycle savings. We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy.

The Mechanical Engineer position will design evaluate plan test and operate mechanical equipment and systems for commercial government military and/or scientific uses. The candidates primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Creating mechanical designs and drawings
  • Writing precise calculations
  • Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
  • Reengineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
  • Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
  • Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software
  • Read and interpret blueprints technical drawings schematics or computergenerated reports for mechanical components in marine technologies
  • Identify review and recommend necessary modifications to ensure product conforms to engineering design and performance specifications
  • Plan coordinate or monitor the selection of manufacturing methods fabrication or operation and maintenance of marine components ensuring optimal manufacturing or component performance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree and2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with an understanding of mechanical systems
  • US Citizen with an active DoD security clearance at SECRET level
  • Experience with equipment design principles
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design & manufacturing tools (AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor or Pipe Flo)
  • Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts
  • Experience with documentation development including drawings technical manuals (operation assembly troubleshooting and repair) Bill of Materials
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
  • Familiarity military specifications for technical design

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management
  • Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors
  • Performed in Jira environment

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors including but not limited to the combination of education certifications knowledge skills competencies and experience internal and external equity location clearance level as well as contractspecific affordability organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this positionis based on full time status. For part time or oncall staff compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important its just one component of Noblis total compensation package.
