Position Description
TheDepartment of Orthotics and Prosthetics at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites highly qualified motivated and wellorganized applicants for a pool of parttime teaching appointments.

Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics
The Masters of Science degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics (O&P) and the O&P Assistant program provides educational opportunities for students to evaluate and create treatment interventions for patients who require orthopedic braces and artificial limbs. Formal instruction in orthotics and prosthetics theory and application research design and allied healthrelated courses enable students to learn how to design appropriate orthotic or prosthetic treatment plans; to fit and fabricate devices to implement the treatment plan and to provide followup care. Evidence from research and clinically relevant outcome measures are integrated with findings from visual examination oral history palpation motion and strength testing and gait observation to develop the optimum treatment plan. The Orthotics and Prosthetics Department seeks to provide the highest quality education possible within the scope of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP)Standards and Guidelines for an Accredited Educational Program for the Orthotist and Prosthetist. 2017.

The Position
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in midDecember; the Spring term begins in midJanuary and ends in midMay. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.
Responsibilities
- Managing instructional material and course content for courses assigned.
- Delivering course content
- Managing and posting evaluations and assessments for the course
- Attending O&P faculty meetings
- Utilizing CSUDH correspondence with students and faculty
- Being a positive influence on the students the program and the University
- Assisting in program activities evaluations reports and meetings.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelors or terminal degree and/or certification in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
- Applicants must have experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse ages and socioeconomic cultural and academic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Masters degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- A Ph.D. or extensive professional experience is required for teaching upperdivision core courses 400 or 500level).
Employment Requirement
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Salary and Benefit Information
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024 the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5507 $ 6677
Lecturer B: $6221 $13224
Lecturer C: $6825 $14523
Lecturer D: $8593 $15211

The US Equivalency certification is used to validate foreign studies from an academic credential evaluation agency and is evaluated on foreign studies and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from the United States. The certification must translate the information in English and confirm that your highest terminal degree is US Equivalent to a US terminal degree (i.e. Bachelors Masters Doctorates Doctors of Philosophy).
