Job Description

  • Based at either Melbourne Burwood Campus or Geelong Waterfront Campus
  • Fulltime and continuing within Deakin Learning Futures
  • Level B $108804 $Superannuation (pro rata part time)

Who are we

Deakin Learning Futures is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching learning creativity social development and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into realword impact. This role will specifically be working within Deakin Learning Futures.

About the role:

This position will see you support and provide advice to academic staff primarily in the Faculty of Business and Law (BusLaw) on teaching and learning matters by applying an evidencebased approach.

As a Lecturer in Learning Futures you will:

  • Provide advice support academic leadership and capability building in teaching and learning in higher education particularly in curriculum design and assessment
  • Develop and maintain an indepth understanding of educational research practices and technologies impacting higher education including generative artificial intelligence and work with Faculty staff to develop tailored educational design strategies
  • Contribute to disciplinebased educational or pedagogical research projects and demonstrate an emerging reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research
  • Engage in research scholarly publication and conference presentation individually or in collaboration with others
  • Contribute to projects within Deakin Learning Futures and the University

To be successful youll have:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
  • Experience in providing support and advice to academics in relation to enhancing curriculum pedagogy and assessment particularly in the science engineering IT and built environment disciplines
  • Experience in contributing to the codesign and/or delivery of innovative teaching in online campus based and blended learning environments
  • Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or success in obtaining external research funding
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
