Staff Security Engineer - Cloud Security

The Opportunity

Providing a secure product and platform is central to Datadogs mission. The Cloud Security organization consists of multiple teams dedicated to working collaboratively to bridge gaps between security and the broader Datadog business.

We are seeking an experienced Staff Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our products are built with the highest security standards protecting our users and maintaining their trust. As a Staff Engineer you will lead complex projects mentor junior engineers and work crossfunctionally to embed security into every aspect of our infrastructure and operations.

What Youll Do:

• Collaborate with product security infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the Datadogs multicloud infrastructure and supporting components.
• Provide strategic direction and determine new areas of development for our infrastructure security initiatives.
• Lead largescale projects aimed at improving the security of our expansive multicloud cloud infrastructure ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers establishing best practices in security and reliability.

Who You Are:

• You have 10 years of infrastructure engineering systems engineering network engineering or security engineering experience including supporting multiple teams and complex orgwide initiatives.
• You are experienced building securing and maintaining scalable faulttolerant systems in cloud environments (e.g. AWS GCP Azure).
• You are experienced building and securing containerized systems.(e.g. Kubernetes)
• You are experienced in building and securing zero trust networking solutions.(e.g. Envoy)
• You are experienced in securing Linux operating systems at scale.
• You are an excellent communicator and collaborator able to work effectively through complex technical problems with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• You can lead projects mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
• You have a problemsolving mindset with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• You stay current on emerging security threats and technologies proactively identifying areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance the security posture of our products.
