JOB SUMMARY:
Develops a psychological assessment program focusing on children and adolescents. Performs psychological assessment and psychotherapy as well as provides consultation to referring physician providers.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in clinical or school psychology. Successful record of training and experience conducting psychological assessments with children and adolescents.
LICENSURE CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION:
Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Psychologist In North Carolina.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops referral and scheduling mechanism for children and adolescent referred for psychological assessment.
2. Manages psychological testing equipment and resources such as testing materials rating scales and computerized methods of assessment.
3. Administers psychological assessments for children and adolescent patients including initial interview test administration test scoring and interpretation report writing and test feedback for patients and families.
4. Discusses and interprets findings with internal and external referral sources.
5. As the schedule allows provides individual family and/or group psychotherapy.
6. Provides supervision for psychological assessment conducted by a licensed psychological associate as needed.
7. Participates in educational activities (e.g. psychotherapy supervision didactics clinical coaching) for child and adolescent psychiatry fellows general psychiatry residents medical students and PA students.
