Job Description

Job Title: Social Worker (Children)
Location: Wrexham
Working Hours: Hybrid
Rate: 41.58 per hour

An exciting job role has recently become available in Wrexham. They are looking for a new member for their Leave Care Team.

Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities will include mentoring best practices and other Social Workers within the team with traumainformed approaches at the heart of your practice. You will work with a passionate and skilled workforce to enable care leavers to progress well and benefit from positive experiences. You will focus on effective transitions for young people aged 15 to 18 supporting them to develop confidence and life skills to navigate adulthood. Ensuring accommodation needs are carefully considered you will help young people feel secure and respect their wishes around location to maintain important relationships. You will have access to inhouse stepdown provisions for care leavers with the aim to develop more provisions. There will be a clear focus on education employment and training to help young people of all abilities choose the appropriate route to make the most of their opportunities when they leave care. You will provide a quality social work service that supports children to achieve their potential and positive transitions to adulthood effectively manage a number of young people to achieve the best outcomes model best practice and mentor others. You will demonstrate a determined commitment to corporate parenting working in partnership with children and young people to build and sustain relationships identify needs and develop plans and responses that meet those needs.

What we are looking for in a Social Worker:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK licence
  • Postqualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
