Job Description

The University of Saint Mary is conveniently located a short 30 minutes drive from Parkville Shawnee Basehor and Kansas City Kansas. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Public Safety Graduate Assistant (GA) position is responsible for encouraging a positive environment for all community members providing coverage and supporting essential functions of the Public Safety Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as a role model to students and student staff
  • Assist with Public Safety Department projects and programming
  • Provide administrative support to Public Safety Department
  • Provide Aid and support to community and staff members
  • Collaborates with various university personnel and offices
  • Participates as appropriate in collegewide committees
  • Performs additional jobrelated duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree and enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Saint Mary
  • Prior experience organizing cocurricular activities and crisis intervention is preferred
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Must be selfstarter able to work with minimal direction/supervision and should possess and demonstrate initiative
  • Experience with MS Word Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to pass required background screening
  • Affinity with the overall mission of the University of Saint Mary.
