Main Purpose of Job
The Social Work Supervisor position is a clinical member of the wardbasedtreatment team and of the supervisory/operative level of the Social Work Departments ManagementTeam. This Social Work Supervisor position is assigned to units at CTPHC and is responsible for daytoday unitplanning and implementation of treatment interventions that support the patients understanding of his/herillness the offense or other dangerous behavior which contributed to their admission to CTPHC. At thesupervisory level this Social Work Supervisor position provides administrative and clinical supervision toindependently licensed and graduate level social workers at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center under theMaryland Department of Health. This Social Work Supervisor position also works with communitybasedaftercare programs (e.g. residential and day programs) to facilitate services for the discharged patient.This Supervisor position also oversees the submission of all communitybased referrals and supplementaldocumentation to support establishing services with Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRPS)Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Substance Use Services (SUS) and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program(PRP). This Supervisor position also manages all processes associated with the verification ofentitlements/benefits and important documents. The coordinator provides consultation at the nexusassociated with the readiness for discharge community programs expectations and establishment ofbenefits. The coordinator may provide supplemental support in conjunction with the coordinatordischarge in creating a comprehensive and appropriate discharge plan.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.
Experience: Four years of experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Note:
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as acommissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science Psychology and Welfare field of work on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:
- Experience working in Clinical Interventions to support family engagement in treatment for patients.
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating family support groups.
- Experience working with various community based family support groups.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification must have a license as a Master Social Worker (approved for independent practice) Certified Social Worker or Certified Social WorkerClinical issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
2.Candidates appointed topositions in this classification may be assigned duties which require theoperation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required topossess an appropriate operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
