Reports To: Plant HeadJob Summary: The Assistant Manager/Dy Manager Engineering & Production Shop (CNC) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the CNC production shop. - Oversee the daily operations of the CNC production shop.
- Schedule and coordinate production activities to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources including machines materials and manpower.
- Engineering Support:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement CNC machining processes.
- Provide technical support for the design and optimization of CNC programs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CNC machines and processes.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the production process.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead mentor and develop a team of CNC CADCAM Programmers Machinists/Operators and Technicians.
- Foster a culture of safety quality and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and optimize production processes.
- Participate in crossfunctional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Ensure CNC machines and equipment are properly maintained and serviced.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions for the team.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities including work orders machine logs and quality reports.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 810 years of experience in CAM Programming and CNC machining.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of CNC machines programming and machining processes.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using CNC programming software and CAD/CAM tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
