Folia Materials is an awardwinning cleantech technology startup and we are looking for individuals who take initiative in both their work and their community to join our fastpaced team. Folia Materialss first products use an innovative green chemistry process to use largescale paper machinery to manufacture lowcost nanometal functionalized materials that create new biobased products. This paid internship position is ideal for a motivated renewable materials/paper/chemical engineer seeking a highgrowth role that will build cuttingedgetechnicalskills. The candidate will play a key role in prototyping scaleup qualification and deployment efforts for Folia Materials breakthrough technology. Candidateswho can demonstrate a track record of rapidly mastering new technical skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for technical R&Din Folia Materials Lab in suburban Boston MA. This position involves laboratoryR&D to evaluate Folias coated materials. This position is primarily focused on wet lab chemistry.Successful candidates willperform laboratory tests efficiently and correctly and communicate well with their team.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing abachelors or masters degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (chemical engineering environmental engineering renewable materials chemistry paper science and engineering fiber/textile science) is required.
- Experiencein cellulosic materials pulp and paper or textiles is helpful
- Experience working in a laboratory maintaining and operating equipment and maintaining records and reports of product development activities is preferred.
Skills of particular interest include:
- Chemistry lab experience
- Materials characterization testing
