Job Description

Oversees drug distribution and staff guidance primarily in the hemophilia treatment center pharmacy and the home infusion pharmacy manages medication orders and patient records and supports quality improvement. Engages in research and provides leadership in pharmacy unit operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee drug distribution and control activities within assigned area (e.g. hemophilia treatment center home infusion pharmacy).
  • Serve as a resource for troubleshooting problemsolving and decisionmaking related to provision of pharmaceutical services within assigned area.
  • Maintain and monitor documentation of appropriate and accurate dispensing records including computer medication profiles investigational and controlled substances.
  • Guide/conduct provision of accurate drug information as necessary and upon request based upon an assessment of individual orders and patient conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients to foster quality service and care and address issues if any.
  • Guide and perform patient education and counseling in a manner consistent with defined department guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing departmental and institutional research programs drug/device/technology review and utilization evaluation programs as assigned.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide direction guidance and mentorship to professional and technical staff within area.
  • Actively lead/participate in the training of new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.


Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmacy Education.


Minimum Experience:

  • Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmacy Education and licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy required accredited by the American Council of Pharmacy Education with 5 years of relevant experience; PharmD preferred.
  • Substantial experience in a hospital pharmacy experience in a hemophilia pharmacy highly preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with peers patients and other health professionals.
  • Substantial experience with clinical pharmacy practice medication safety and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in participating in pharmacy committees and/or hospital formulary decisions and developing medicationrelated policies and protocols.
  • Significant experience working with comparable software systems and databases for maintenance/ review of documentation/ records.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and training to pharmacy staff.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/ comparable role.


Licensure Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:

  • (LC: PHARMTN) Licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $55.00 $104.00 per hour for the role of Sr. Clinical Staff Pharmacist Hemophilia Treatment Center.
